| Abstract | The research is prepared consistent with the Five-year Information Technology Development Strategy and Plan (2006 – 2010) of Vietnam Electricity. This strategy clearly defined that EVN will be leading corporation in implementation of Information Technology system to support the business. Information Technology will be one of the most important competitive advantages of EVN. In order to achieve the strategic mission of IT development of EVN, EVN.IT relized it is very critical the quality of software development has to be improved to satisfy international standards and the capability maturity model integration (CMMI) will be applied to EVN.IT’s software development process. The research will provide strategic recommendations to Information Technology Center of Vietnam Electricity (EVN.IT) to perform an effective and smooth transformation of existing software development process to an appropriate level of the CMMI® model. The analysis will help EVN.IT to determine critical success factors of the transformation to CMMI and then develop step by step strategic actions that EVN.IT should follow to complete the transformation effectively and smoothly. |
