AbstractCash flow is king (Rob Reider and Peter B. Heyler, 2003, p.1) and truly the lifeblood of any business or organization. In the simplest way, cash flow is the process how the company uses cash to produce and provide goods for customers, and then collect the funds from the sales. As the trees cannot live without water, the business cannot operate without cash. Cash flow is arguably the core of the business. Cash flow plays very important role to the company. It shows a financial health and a clear scene of the inflows and outflows of money from a company. Hatien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company is one of the famous cement producers in Vietnam, who is undergoing great changes and continuous growing towards the leading position in the cement industry in the South of Vietnam. For 45 years, it has focused on developing distribution system and gradually standardized exclusive distributors for the sales of Hatien 1’s products. In recent years, together with increasing the sales volume and expanding market into the Middle of Vietnam and the export market, the sales revenue also raises significant, but the company neglects control of its cash flow. This research finds out the root cause of the problems that the company is facing. Based on the analyzed results, the research will propose feasible solutions for the improvement and optimization the cash flow of Hatien 1 Cement JS Company in order to bring more benefit to the company and its customers. In addition, this study can apply for other Vietnam companies, which have wide distribution network in local and international market for developing a competitive and effective cash flow management process.
