Abstract | This research represents aspects of efforts to increase adoption of Chemical Management Service (CMS) among oil and gas companies and reduce uncertainty among chemical users through a CMS program. Given the fact that oil and gas companies have significant need for CMS and this results in a great opportunity for chemical service providers. However, there are outstanding barriers to diffusion of CMS such as customer’s confusion and uncertainty about how CMS differs from other conventional chemical supply programs or finance is also a factor that makes CMS program unprofitable in smaller accounts etc. CMS has been recognized to be very good business model for company promoting the service to a oil & gas industry. As to increase the adoption of CMS, the company should evaluate exactly the level of CMS in the customer’s organization so as to understand the existing barriers which need to be overcome. Company needs also to enhance a very concrete marketing strategy to interact with all individuals of all stakeholders to make sure no stuck- point effects the CMS adoption. Last but not least, this industry requires a very high level of service, thus company should have very intensive training program for their staffs in term of related knowledge, special sale skills etc. so that improve company’s competency. |
