AbstractTrubaindo Coal mining, the one of coal mining operations in Banpu, has high production and each of its operating processes are important to its production such as transportation from mine stock yard to port. There are many trucks which are operated by different contractors. Then, it will be difficult and complicated to control and record data. It is also unable to take information to analyze and to indicate the root cause of problems. Consequently, this issue will directly affect to the production. For this reason, Global Positioning System (GPS) and wireless technology will be able to help managing and providing useful information in the coal mining operation. Global Positioning System (GPS) is equipment to present position of truck and cycle time of transportation in each trucks including behavior of drivers. After all information is collected, it will be transferred to database via wireless system. Then all information will be presented in visual format for users to be easy to understand, interpret, and analyze data with periodical report such as weekly or monthly. Therefore, well management information and technology will be able to support in many of business aspects. In addition, it will improve operation processes as well as overall productivity.
