Abstract | A State Join Stock Company has many weakness & shortcomings, especially in Vietnam environment. These limits affect directly to the business performance of the company. Since 2014, the author has started implementing the experimental change in small scale of commercial department at Nhon Trach Shipyard J.S.C (NTS) – a State JSC. The changes are business processes and human resource performance improvement. From the achieved results, the author has expanded the change for the whole company from leadership, human resources, financial control, organizational structure, production system, and management system. The aim of this study is analyzing the reasons of weakness & shortcomings from business strategy, human resources, leadership, organizational structure, …etc. These matters need to change for the survival & development of NTS. Base on historical data of NTS and Kotter’s model, the implementation change/change management had been implemented to achieve the desired results in short-term period and open new vision for long-term development. In addition, this study will propose how to apply the change process in the best way according with current situation of this case. The main achievement of this research reveals that leadership and human resources are key impacts for the change success. They are significant factors to decide & achieve the desired results in change/change management. The obtained results of this research could also be applied for similar case in future. |
