AbstractThe cement market in Viet Nam is competing very exciting, especially in the North, where have many large cement manufacturers of Viet Nam. Viet Nam is developing countries, cement demand for the building of infrastructure and public works continued to increase. Nevertheless, the appearance of many cement producers in recent times pushed the producers of cement into stiff competition. Viet Nam has experienced the supply surplus in recent years and this continues to happen in the next years. Exports of cement also become unmanageable due to compete with China's cheap cement. Cement transport costs are very high. Thus, the export does not bring profit to the producers of cement. Thus forcing cement makers to seek and expand the domestic market. Each cement manufacturers must find themselves a strategy consistent with the ability of each business. Vicem But Son is one of the largest cement producers in the North. Vicem But Son has been successful in developing the brand in the market. The company's products being used for the construction of large scale require quality and high stability. Based on the success achieved, Vicem But Son continues to invest in expanding production, the output of the plant currently has doubled. Facing the situation of oversupply of cement market required Vicem But Son must find themselves a consistent development strategy. This research aims to assess the current situation of Vicem But Son, analyze the opportunities and threats of the external environment, strengths and weaknesses of the company in order to propose strategic directions for the development of Vicem But Son.
