Customer satisfaction for construction consultancy during a high growth period : the case of AP Vietnam

AbstractVietnam has made gigantic efforts after renovation policy decided since the last decade. Foreigner investment continuously increases, substantially contributes to the country’s growth, most of all in the real estate field. High raise buildings, infrastructure projects and other important public works are executing everywhere in all cities throughout the nation transform it into changes full of vitality. Grow stronger by leaps causing many quality problems in construction industry. The fact that many projects were collapsed, cracked and sunk because of lack of independent quality controls in construction, with social evils as corruption in tender negotiation process causing so much loss to the society are prevented by the role of supervision consultancy that has been regulated clearly in many degrees and circulars from the Ministry of Construction recently since 2004. Supervision consultancy is a legal obligation and is the responsibility of one owner to assure his project quality. The demand of this service accelerates unexpectedly during the last 6 years. Our company has been a pioneer to raise the construction problems and to launch the service in Vietnamese market. Growth rate at 30% - 40% per year has been a fruitful result but at the same time puts the company in some troubles of a high growth period. Finding reasons to maintain the service quality while maintaining the development in a growing market is an important role of the board management of the company. This case research is to help that problem solved by a survey process and analysis on its results to raise solutions and recommendations. The Gap Model of Parasuraman, Zeith and Leonard Berry is the main guidance to the author in questionnaire compiling and interviewing process. Other concept of Process approach of Sidoc Model helps author to identify crucial factors that effect to quality of the service. Those models direct author to the conclusion of the research
