Abstract | Crude oil and natural gas are essential source of energy for driving the world nowadays. They are necessary in almost every industry. Once the demand is still high, the investments from oil companies are also going on. New offshore platforms are constructed day by day, and the decommissioning issue has become the topic to be considered. The intention of an author of this internship report is to study and find some knowledge regarding the decommissioning of fixed offshore platform, since this activity will be necessary for all the concessionaires in the Gulf of Thailand very soon. The contents of this report will consist of general issues of oil and gas industry in Thailand, available decommissioning methods for fixed offshore platform and the preparation plan of the contractor company in order to be ready for this type of job when the time comes. |
