| Abstract | In an effort to develop an integrated and coordinated logistic service to meet the
requirements for the growth of oil and gas industry in Vietnam, PTSC Shipping Agency
Ltd Company (PSA) - a subsidiary of Petro Vietnam Technical Services Corporation
(PTSC) - who has been specialized in logistics and shipping service, plan to expand its
current service offering by establishing the new service, called: “door-to-door” (import)
service to the oil and gas companies who are operating in Vietnam and the South East Asia
region.
In this research, the author – as a managing director of PSA, aims to develop a plan for this
new service which includes the evaluation of critical factors that may impact the efforts of
new service introduction and development, the development plan and strategy.
The research has applied well-known business analysis methods, including: PESTLE,
SWOT, Porter 5 Forces to analyze the company’s surrounding business environment. This
analysis will enable the company to determine the opportunities/ threats of the new
services and the strengths/weakness of the company in regards of development for these
services.
The author (the company) has also conducted a questionnaire survey with their main
clients to identify in a specific way of the service needs of their customer, on the aspects
of: scope of service, pricing, and other related factors… Based on the outcomes of analyses
and surveys, the research will be concluded with a recommended development process for
the new “door-to-door” logistic service though a new service development plan and
strategy. |
