Abstract | This thesis discusses the development of an optimal business strategy in accordance with the 2020 vision for BAOVIET Joint Stock Commercial Bank (BAOVIET Bank). The problem stems from the urgent demand of BAOVIET Bank to have an appropriate business strategy as a newly established bank among harsh economic and financial condition. The author adopts previous researches on corporate strategy to analyze the external environment with PESTEL factors and the Five-force model as well as to analyze the internal environment with Value chain model. The analyzing results are synthesized with the Internal – External (IE) Matrix and the SWOT matrix to devise possible business strategies. The most relevant business strategy is then examined using GREAT criteria. The result indicates that the best business strategy during current context is to improve the bank’s internal capacity by enlarging the bank’s size, investing in qualified staff and tackling bad debts. Implementation solutions are presented to apply the chosen business strategy into practice. |
