Abstract | Established in 1983, Logging & Testing Division (L&TD), one of the sixteen member divisions of Vietsovpetro Joint Venture Company (VSP), is specializing in supplying special petroleum technical services. Over 37 years of development, L&TD has satisfied most of VSP demands on geophysical services and thereby contributed considerably to the achievement of VSP. After nearly 30 years of exploitation and production in the White Tiger and Dragon oilfields, the working volume of well drilling and oil production is decreasing. Therefore, the demand of VSP on geophysical services will consequently be decreasing too. Since 2006, L&TD has expanded some business activities to provide high quality service for oil companies outside VSP in Vietnam. However, the result achieved is not as expected. In order to survive and develop, L&TD must search for new customers and expand the market outside VSP. The business plan of L&TD is to attain annual revenue of US$10 million from geophysical services from the market outside VSP in following years. To reach this objective, L&TD needs to develop its own marketing strategy. This project study gives an overview about the oilfield logging service market in Vietnam as well as an insight about L&TD. The analysis of the current situation of L&TD‟s market, current marketing activities to identify the strengths and weaknesses compared to the chief competitors. Then a marketing strategy to expand the logging service market for L&TD is suggested in project study. |
