AbstractIn 2012, the Vietnamese economy continues to face with many difficulties. Cement industry is one of the sectors is affected by the changes very clearly, both directly and indirectly. Spending of Government is cut, the real estate market is freeze and invest more cement factory lead to overcapacity in the cement market. Against that, the cement manufacturing company need to build themselves a strategy to determine what an opportunity to take advantage, what is the risk to avoided to minimize the risk. At the same time, they also need to evaluate to determine what the strengths to develop are, what are the weaknesses must be addressed to navigate through the difficulties ahead and look for a long-term future. VICEM BUT SON is a manufacturing company, supplying clinker and cement in Vietnam. With principal market is the northern provinces. However, VICEM BUT SON not have a strategy at this time. Therefore, developing for VICEM BUT SON a strategy in the next stage is imperative to help the company overcome the current difficulties and develop in the future. By finding and analysis data of company and market, the author helps VICEM BUT SON have an overview on the situation of the company and develop a strategy for the period 2012 - 2020.
