Abstract | Strategic management plays a key part for any enterprise as it helps the top management lead the enterprise on the right track. Vicem Hoangthach is not an exceptional case. Last year, many state owned enterprises (SOEs) succeeded in transferring to operate under the common Law of Enterprise in which all the SOEs are equally treated with other kinds of enterprise ownership. Since then, they have been more and more active to establish their own strategies of development. But they are now often puzzled to set up and manage its own strategy, even get lost. This research carefully analyzes external environment as well as internal organization of Vicem Hoangthach, studying its opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses. Based on the finding, the author recommends the strategies to develop the company. It is a valuable lesson not only for Vicem Hoangthach but also for other SOEs in the transitional period. |
