Abstract | The global economic in last 6 years has a lot of changes especially the crisis of real estate in United State in 2007, which led to the collapse of banking not only in this country but also impacted to many others in the world. Going with the same failure track, Vietnam‟s economic was also fallen after bursting out real estate with bubble price then it caused a critical financial crisis. As a result, plenty of construction projects have been stopped and cancelled due to dramatic drop of demand. Surplus of cement capacity producing create cruel competition among cement players in Vietnam. Many cement plants and projects had been stopped working to re-structuralize the source of supply accordingly. The crisis has been continuing last until now, which caused intervention of government to ban import and merging others. As one of branch of Holcim Switzerland, the leading cement manufacturers and ready-mix concrete in the world, Holcim Vietnam (HVL) has been directly incurred. To survive during this difficulty and grow, change is a must for whole company entirely. Many campaigns have been deployed such as new products; heat recovery; Supply Chain Operation Excellent (SCOPE) and Holcim Leadership Journey (HJL). These require a lot initiatives contributed in technical aspect and in management. Facing with plenty issues of customer complaints, Supply Chain Distribution division always has to think pro-actively. Optimizing cost, efficient management and adding value are further targets to enhance distribution. Based on these requirements, best logistic solutions are invested for pushing improvement. Some salient points of this thesis are practical applications with wonderful achievement. This asserts right orientation of business development and the necessary of doing this research. |
