Abstract | The study assessed the socio-economic impact of Regional Rural Banks loan credit on rural borrowers household. Research was conducted in four villages of Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh, India. Research survey was based on personal interview of 80 borrower’s household (borrowers; borrowed loan credit for agriculture purposes from the banks). Results show the socio-economic impact of loan credit on improving borrower household condition. It was found that more than 70 % of borrowers were satisfied with loan amount for their agricultural practices. whereas 54% of borrowers reported that employment opportunities had increased after loan credit investment. Later, findings suggest and show the positive effect of Government Employment Program for income generation. Although, result indicate positive response of Regional Rural Bank loan credit on rural borrowers household, 68 % of borrowers reported that they have over dues amount. Therefore, corresponding to over dues amount further research is required to address various reasons of over dues in order to improve proper planning, management, and approaches of Regional Rural Banks. |
