Abstract | This research project was undertaken with the intent to provide a clear picture of the state of the current warehousing operations at Piriyapul International and then attempt to review this picture against a theoretical background in order to provide actionable recommendations for improvement. Initially the study provides a solid background for the research by providing a contextual overview of Piriyapul‟s current operations, moving onto a review of the most effective methodologies to be deployed to aid analysis of the situation. The study itself used in depth interviews with key members of staff to identify a range of key areas for improvement including; labor management, inventory management and warehousing space management. The main recommendations involved providing greater training on the use of WMS systems in order to ensure that stock is effectively managed in terms of storage and not being allowed to go out of date. Further recommendations involve improving the security of goods to protect against fire and natural disasters. |
