Abstract | The development in technology has made easier to access and use Internet, which has increased the use of the web in mathematics tutoring and education. This growth has helped the students to gain the mathematical knowledge and build concepts. The aims of this research were to develop web based software to support teaching and learning mathematics in primary school. The mathmooc system is developed after studying the traditional way of delivering mathematical knowledge and then reviewing the already available web applications. This system use concrete objects as instructional aid for demonstrating number sense. These concrete objects develop more precise and more comprehensive mental representations and model problems. Student learn counting at initial maths practice and use this method to solve problems such as addition and subtraction. This system is designed keeping those factors in mind which explains addition with counting strategies. Similarly , students learn about multiplication in addition strategy. Corrective feedback is another aspect of learning where student develop concept by committing mistakes. Students receive instant feedback for every question along with step by step animated explanation and student also learn about more than one way to achieve the result. Finally, as a token of appreciation, student receive awards like Certificate of Completion certificates for high test scores, which is in turn inspiring them to practice even more. |
