AbstractWichain buri oil field is one of onshore oil fields in Thailand. Wichain buri oil field was produced crude oil from volcanic reservoir rocks by Pan Orient Energy Ltd. The reservoirs are found in wichain buri sub-basin. These volcanic reservoirs, of Middle Miocene to Quaternary age, organic material in shales from lacustrine deposites of the wichain buri Group. This report is shown quick look interpretation followed by Crain’s method, the water saturation Sw of Wichain buri oil field estimate by 3 model: 1) Archie’s equation, for this equation prefer to applied with sand formation that formation has not shale interbeded called clean sand formation. This exaggeration of water saturation will shown the reservoir at the Wichain buri oil field are not clean sand formation, but interbeded with shales. This report shown various equations to calculate Sw such as Simandoux and Indonrsian equation. We need to find better method to calculate Sw for shaly formation and volcanic formation. Acquired well logging data applied for study are gamma ray, resistivity, neutron and density logs. The interpretation zones of reservoir are 5 zone of reservoir zone. After, separate zoning of reservoir, we have to determine shale volume (Vsh). Then, we have to calculate porosity based on density log and evaluate the value of water resistivity by using pickett mehod. We determine water saturation with 3 methods. The results are summarized in Table 4.1 and 4.2. In conclusion, parameter of well logging interpretation will be estimated the characterization. The parameter can be used to calculate the stock tank oil initial in place (STOIIP) and oil reserves in this field
