AbstractChallenging to make a prediction of future urban water demand is that of nonlinear function of climatic and socioeconomic variables. Future changes of those that relevant factors certainly influence future demand. Thus, forecasting technique has to be reasonable come up from a significant and reliable way in order to efficient plan and operate every water supply system. More importantly the technique has to be able to investigate the amount sensitive of variables on forecasting the demand. The objective of this research is to estimate the effect of climatic and socio-economic changes of future water demand for Bangkok. Therefore, this study divided into three parts: obtaining future climatic and socioeconomic, correlation analysis and modeling future the demand. As a result, downscaled HadCM3 provided the satisfying results representing the present day precipitation, minimum temperature, evaporation and relative humidity of the study area. On the other hand, corrected ECHAM4/PRECIS represented better for representing daily maximum temperature. About correlation analysis, numbers of connection is the most highly correlated with existed water demand for yearly and monthly scales. Using Artificial Neural Networks software, in long term demand model with coefficient correlation of 96.6%, results indicated that climatic variables have contributed to future demand, but less than the contribution from numbers of connections. For medium term demand model with coefficient correlation of 95.1%, models has combined more climatic variables, and provided the best result suggesting that smaller scaled demand models significantly influenced by climate. The results from this research should help MWA in a way of verify making reliable and reasonable decision for manage and construct their water supply improvement project to cope with future water demand for Bangkok and its vicinities
