Abstract | Objectives – This research aims to examine the level of employee job satisfaction in the insurance company in Vietnam as PVI Insurance Corporation and identify negative influence of current human resource management on employee’ motivation and satisfaction. Methodology and Approaching – The research uses quantitative and qualitative methods to gather statistic data through the job satisfaction survey and informative responses during open-minded discussion with both employee and some manager to get more understanding and clarification on their emotional sharing. To collect primary data through the job satisfaction survey, one hundred survey reports have been sent to the sampling respondents who are working at PVI Insurance’s head office. Then, seventy six reports have been fulfilled and returned to the researcher. Although the targeted respondents are limited within the staff who has worked for PVI Insurance at least one year and above and qualified bachelor degree level or higher, the result also reflects hesitance of the respondents to fulfill the survey. Some survey reports were unfinished with blank answers. Due to the sensitive issue, the researcher has to discuss directly and friendly with the respondents in order to give more clarification on the purpose of the survey and confidential commitment for complete reports. Based on the statistic figures obtained, the researcher approach the employee’s motivation and engagement towards the company. In other aspect, the researcher also study more about the leadership style in PVI Insurance being one of important factor influencing on working engagement and environment in the company through statements and sharing of top management of PVI Insurance at Petro journal, company magazine, etc. as well as open-minded with other manager in the company. Findings and Analysis – Despite of attractive reward system that reflect well-paid salary and bonuses, the researcher became aware that there are some sign of dissatisfaction and low engagement of the employee with the company. This trend shall cause low productivity and creativity and as a result, lead negative impacts on long-term development of the company. It is significant to find out the situation of employee’s motivation and emotion even and carry out analysis on the root causes of these outstanding matters. Based on the feedbacks through the survey, the researcher bring the readers real situation of dissatisfaction relating to working dedication towards their professional and career development and weak communication between the employees and the managing level within the company. The outstanding matters come from negative influence of working engagement and environment that mostly arisen from the current human resource management policies. Practical recommendations and solutions – Within the frame of this research, the researcher emphasize on specific recommendations and practical solutions to modify processes relating to human resource management to improve the employee’s motivation and engagement. Through more standardizing human resource management, the final objectives of the research offer reasonable solutions in improving more interactive relationship between the employee and the managing persons and draw more the company’s leader’s dedication towards the employee’s needs and emotional demands. This is also challenge to the current style of leadership in the company that plays important role to adjust current regulations and policies for sake of fairly and open working environment. Last but not least, these improvements will lead higher creativity and productivity of the employee as well as stable foundation for long-term development of PVI Insurance. |
