Abstract | Healthcare is one of the elements receiving the most concerns from expatriates who have to travel, work or live in countries where the healthcare standard is quite below their home countries’. Therefore, in order to provide healthcare support to the expatriates, who have to work, live or travel in Vietnam, AEA International Holdings Pte. Ltd. decided to set up its business, called International SOS Vietnam Co., Ltd., in this country only after two years since Vietnamese Government officially called for foreign direct investment from foreigners. As the first foreign directed investment company joining the market and providing international healthcare standard, International SOS Vietnam soon gained the clients’ awareness and was acknowledged by its clients as the leader in this market segment. However, because Vietnam economic condition keeps changing, together with the increment of more middle to high class Vietnamese citizens in its population structure, there are more competitors joining the market. Accordingly, revisiting and reformulation of its business strategy is a must should it still wants to keep its position. The review of current business strategy, environmental factors and its own strengths and weaknesses have indicated that the company should utilize the opportunities that the environment can bring, strengthen its advantages over its competitors, enhance the current processes, bring in new services to its existing clients and expand the client base to new clients. Only through this, the company can survive and grow in the long run. |
