AbstractPurpose: Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) is a State owned enterprise. Internal control plays a very important role in corporate governance, business transparency and efficiency. In internal control, internal audit has been an efficient method to detect managerial fraud, errors and eliminate possible risks. This tool is widely applied abroad but not in Vietnam and EVN. Through the analysis of weakness and potential risks in EVN contemporary control and management systems, to corporate governance practices and related experts’ opinion, this project will apply internal audit for better performance. Design/Methodology/Approach: The project will use a qualitative approach by collecting data and information on corporate governance, internal audit and controls through reports of parent companies of EVN and EVN’s subsidiaries, legal databases, managerial models from some foreign state asset owned enterprises. Will be reviewed suggestions of related and managers. Will be analyzed to find what most suitable to apply in Vietnam Electricity. Finding: the results of this project will make, confirm the importance of internal audit, and performance in Electricity of Vietnam’s management system. These findings will help EVN’s owners and managers implement policies and facilities for internal control activities, to obtain better corporate governance. Paper Style: Project report
