AbstractIn the explosion epoch of information technology, telecommunications and electronics, the internet play more and more important role in all parts of life such as education, business, communication,… and so on. In Vietnam, the need of using internet is continuously increasing. The internet is so useful and popular that nowadays more and more people use it every time and everywhere, day or night, from businessmen to students, for registering a flight or reading electronic newspapers. In 1997, Vietnam Data Communication (VDC) Company was permitted to provide international connectivity. From 2003, along with incentive policies of the Vietnam government, many companies have jumped into this field to operate as Internet service providers such as Viettel, FPT, EVN Telecom or SPT. This creates a strong competition between ISPs. VDC is facing many challenges in defending its leading position and in advancing itself towards the future of internet technology. Therefore, the study is focus on analyzing of the current position of VDC in the South market and finding out problems the company facing in its service performance based on the customers’ perception. From those points, solutions will be proposed in order to enhance and improve the VDC competitive performance.
