| Abstract | PTSC Phu My Port located in Phu My 1 Industrial Zone, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Vietnam, belongs to the No. 5 port system approved by Vietnam government
Facing the increasingly competitive environment, PTSC Phu My Port has to set up its appropriate strategy, thereby ensuring its survival and success. Such strategy not only helps PTSC Phu My Port to determine its businesses and target customers, but also to enables it developing its competitive advantages
Understanding business environment and having a good strategy plays a crucial role in survival and success of PTSC Phu My Port. Identifying opportunities, threats and strengths, weaknesses as well as developing an appropriate strategy enables PTSC Phu My Port to do its business effectively. The research has applied well-known business analysis methods, including: SWOT, Porter 5 Forces to analyze the external, internal business environment. Several methods are used to conduct this study. They are desk research method, in-depth interview and questionnaire survey. Desk research method will be used to collect secondary data about PTSC Phu My Port, the sea port industry, and other factors of external environment. Questionnaire survey result of experts will be used to judge the business environment of PTSC Phu My Port. The questionare survey result of customers will be used to determine what PTSC Phu My Port should focus on to attract customers.
As managing director of PTSC Phu My Port, the author studies seriously the strategy of PTSC Phu My Port developed by this research and then implements it. The findings of this research will be applied in PTSC Phu My Port by the author. |
