Abstract | Reasonable exploitation, reduced consumption of natural resources in general and mineral resources in particular has become an essential issue for sustainable development. It is also a problem with special priority to find out the new solutions more intelligent and more effective to protect environment and increase the quality of life. The world mining industry is facing many challenges such as the of growing demand for energy pressure the mining production, of difficult mining conditions leads to increased production costs. The global economic crisis has not yet come to an end. In Vietnam, the mining industry is no exception to these challenges. The industry is efficient production of minerals business has not been expected. Although in the past years, the VINACOMIN has great efforts to meet the demand for coal in domestic and for export. In order to develop the mining industry in a sustainable way, requires VINACOMIN have to have actions in the right direction with specific strategic vision to overcome and the sustainable exist in the operations in this industry. This paper presents the current status development of the mining industry in Vietnam, the trends of mining in the world, analysis and evaluates the advantages and challenges in which Vietnam's coal industry is facing, and makes recommendations for the sustainable development of the coal mining industry |
