AbstractTechnological advancement has changed the way people live, communicate, work and trade. Mobile device and mobile communication networks, results of advances in wireless technologies, have introduced a new business area and opportunities, what is known as mobile commerce. Mobile Commerce is evolved from e-Commerce, in which users can communicate with the service providers via mobile and wireless network, making use of mobile devices for accessing information and monetary transactions through various applications. Here, another term called Mobile Banking has emerged, where banks and financial organization use mobile commerce to enable their users to check their account details, conduct transactions, pay for stocks and remit money. Mobile banking has been increasing in popularity and it plays as a very important role in economic development of developing countries where lots of citizens are unbanked and not accessible to traditional banking systems. In this paper, we will find out the factors influencing adoption of mobile banking in Myanmar, demographic information of Myanmar mobile banking users, the characteristics mobile banking along with technologies, main players, critical factors and business models.
