| Abstract | A critical assessment of Organizational structures and its strategy implemented in the organizations is necessary to determine their capacity to ensure that the activities in the organization are carried out in accordance with established goals procedures. Organization structure provides the guidelines on division of work on activities, linkage between different functions, hierarchy, authority structure and relationship. Structure is not merely an organization chart but includes all the people, positions, procedures, processes, culture, technology and related fundamentals that comprise the organization. It defines how this components work together. Organization structure must be totally integrated with strategy for the organization to achieve its goals. Structure supports strategy.
Research emphasizes on five listed Commercial banks in Asia and analysis of the organizational structure and strategy of each banks. The comparative study between Bank of Bhutan Limited and Bhutan National Bank Limited was made giving importance to the linkage between their Organizational structure and the strategy of the organization. Comparison was also done between Bank of Bhutan Limited and Eastern Bank Limited, Bangladesh in order to find out the impact on organizational structure due to the change in strategy. The differences and the similarities in the adaption of Organization structure for successful implementation of strategy were identified. The study results indicate that there is a statistically significant relation between organizational structure and strategy with regard to competitive advantages of the bank. |
