AbstractHuman resource is always considered as a valuable asset of a firm. It plays an important role in company development and providing source of sustaining competitive advantages. For this reason, employees need to be trained for obtaining necessary skills and knowledge as well as to be developed to fulfill requirements of business environment changes. Therefore, company needs to implement effectively HR practices and processes to well manage their human resource. With the main task of training and developing the human resource for Petrovietnam and the oil and gas industry, PVMTC has got remarkable achievements in recent years. However, the college also has to face with many challenges such as requirements of customers for high quality services, threats of competitors and lack of skilled human resources. The purpose of the research is to give an overview about the current human resource quality of PVMTC and then pointing out some limitations in the college HR practices. In order to find relevant data for research work, a survey with sample size of 50 trainers and interviewing some senior managers were taken. Through data analysis, the research found out that there were some limited points related to training activities, talent development and performance management policies. Then, recommendations are suggested to improve efficiency of HR practices and to enhance the human resource quality.
