AbstractAt present in Vietnam, electricity industry is one of basic branches making foundation for socioeconomic development of the country. With fast development of Vietnam economy as now, EVN who takes main responsibility for electricity generation and supply has deployed measures to enhance its performance in order to meet the requirement above. To contribute to accomplish the common mission of EVN, Power Transmission Company No3, one of subsidiary companies of EVN specializing in area of power transmission between power plants and customers is also in the process of improving its low labor productivity, one common issue existing in state-owned firms. As a result, first the research study focus on identifying and analyzing the problem of low labor productivity in Power Transmission Company No3 based on secondary data of the company as well as primary data from in-depth interviews with managers of departments and units and current and former employees in the company in order to find the root causes of the problem. Based on the results of problem analysis, the best solutions and recommendations have been selected and carried out for productivity improvement in the company. This research study can also be applied for the remaining firms in the field of power transmission for improving their productivity contributing to meet the demand of socioeconomic development now and in the future.
