Factors related to implementing cost optimization in EVN’s Power Distribution Corporations

AbstractIn this preriod of 2010 - 2015, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) accomplished successfully and comprehensively all its missions as planned for the every year. Under the guidance and support of the Government, of the Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as other ministries, local authorities and people, domestic customers and international friends, and with the spirit of solidarity and endeavor by its managers and employees, EVN achieved encouraging successes. EVN supplied sufficient power energy to the socioeconomic development and the people's needs. The power energy produced and purchased by EVN energy sale totaled 127.141 TWh. By the end of 2014, 99.59% of communes and 98.22% of rural households were electrified. Especially, EVN extended the national power network to districts of islands such as Co To, Phu Quoc, Con Dao island, etc, and to a number of villages, hamlets in the borderlands, thus making contributions to the national defense and security, the sovereignty of the national territory and the socio-economic development in rural and mountainous regions, and on islands. Although, the high growth rate, the high demands, the complex factors as well as the continuous raising of requirements on power distribution, EVN shall continue facing numerous difficulties and challenges. Therefore, EVN frequently has change to implement a lot of synchronous solutions to maintain the sustainable growth and serve effectively for national economy. This study aims at analyzing to find solutions and recommendations which are the most suitable for the EVN Power Distribution Corporations to implement the objectives and tasks according to the strategy of cost optimization of EVN.
