Abstract | With the development of communication systems, requirement of connection between service providers are growing progressively. For that reason, fixed network traffic observation and analysis within nodes are required for system administration and operation. This research observes and analyzes the fixed network traffic during two weeks period at local exchange in Travinh Province. There are 6.20% long distance calls, 0.09% International calls, 4.17% VoIP calls, and 2.09% service phone that made out from fixed telephone network. In addition, in comparison with previous research results, the density of fixed telephone network of VNPT system increases from 3.37 subscribers/100 populations to 7.79 subscribers/100 populations in four years from 2006 to present time. Especially, at present result there is 72.23% of total of calls to mobile service in observed time while fixed calls within province has trend reducing, there is only 15.23% of total calls. Busy hour traffic varies from 2.4Erl to 57.7Erl with busy hour concentration variety in a range of 8.35% and 9.86% in earlier study, and in this study, average carried traffic in busy hour varies from 30.21Erl to 58.28Erl with busy hour concentration variety in a range of 8.95% and 9.98%. Holding time is assumed to be exponentially distributed. However, from real traffic observation and analysis showed that conversation time cannot accurately be modeled by exponential distribution. The real data curve has much longer tail than expected curve. |
