AbstractInformation Technology has developed so rapidly. Most companies use diversified technology to work, manage, manufacture, do transactions and so on. Computing companies are quickly emerging and drawing qualified human resources from each other, which causes the job hopping phenomenon of IT staff and creates high turnover at these companies. Labor force turnover has become serious as the demand of IT staff has increased around 30% each year, equivalent to 30,000 IT workers. The graduates from education and training institutions in Vietnam are only 10,000 more. It can be seen that the gap between supply and demand is rather large. This study is focusing on the loyalty of staff of Lac Viet Corporation and on how to retain it. The results reveal that the reason of the high turnover rate and the HR shortage of the company stem from company's policies, performance, working environment and particularly the employees' knowledge and skills. For IT companies, to be assured that they are achieving good performance and staff's loyalty, they need to enhance employees' welfare and career advancement through supportive policies.
