AbstractProcurement and contract management is the process of negotiating and entering into a business agreement between two parties, normally buyer and seller, in order to supply goods and services according to terms and conditions on scope of work, technical requirement, price and schedule, legal and environment, etc. Despite a large selection of recognized management tools available, the implementation of procurement and contracting and its result is not always as good and effective as expected. This project aims to bring out gaps and issues by analyzing the current status of the procurement activities of Vietsovpetro in which the author has realized and faced in his job and also to suggest appropriate solutions for those issues. Collected data from questionnaires, in-depth interviews and company’s bidding and contractual resources are applied into both qualitative and quantitative methods. It results that issues could happen at any stage of the process of procurement and contract, such as planning, procurement, contract implementation and goods storage stages.
