AbstractThis research aimed to study on the local community’s participation in ecotourism and the effects on the local community at Khlong khone Mangroves, Samut Songkram Province. This research adopted qualitative research using in-depth interviews for data collection. The interviews were conducted with those affiliated in an Eco-tourism at Khlong khone Mangrove Forest. Quantitative research was also adopted using the questionnaire survey. Samples were 200 of local people in the Khlong khone local community. Data analysis applied the program that can be divided into two categories. Both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were used for the data analysis. Regarding the study on the participation of community leaders and those affiliated on Khlong khone Mangrove Forest attraction, it was found by the study that overall public participation in ecotourism management in forms of participation in implementation, participation in receiving benefits, and participation in the evaluation; were visible. Moreover, participation in ecotourism monitoring and evaluation showed the positive correlation to the benefit for local communities and ecosystem. The result revealed that the government shall promote the participation in monitoring and evaluation of mangrove ecotourism in Samut Songkhram province. It will be beneficial for both local community and ecosystem.
