Abstract | This study explores the perception of workplace harassment among women police officer and underlying challenges they face in their workplace. It is also trying to understand the gender norms and gender roles they face in the workplace. It also explores the existing policies which may or may not be related to workplace harassment present in their institution. The major objective is to find the challenges faced and understand the perception of workplace harassment by women police officer. Qualitative method and semi structured interviews were used for interviewing the relevant KII and Respondent. Women Police officers were the target of respondent for this study. The finding of the study shows different perspective in terms of workplace harassment. Though the women police officers have no experience of Workplace harassment, here are social norms and gender roles which pose as a challenge for women police officer. The existing policies prevalent is more focused on women inclusion whereas awareness in other policies are less compared to the Nepal Gender policy. Suggestion on impacts and coping mechanism is given in order to understand workplace harassment more in future context. |
