| Abstract | B.Braun International Corporation is a global specialist in manufacturing healthcare
products mainly for hospitals. Its Headquarter is located in Melsungen-Germany with over 50
world-wide subsidiaries. The Asia Pacific regional office is in Singapore.
The representative office in Ho Chi Minh City was established in 1992, followed by
Hanoi in 1993 and accompanied by co-operating with importers in Hanoi, Hue, Da nang,
HCMC and Can Tho. At present, B.Braun Vietnam has 6 Business Units which serve
different specialties of hospitals.
This research focuses on Vascular System Division (VS) whose main products are
stents and balloons. Their use is to dilate stenotic coronary arteries (vessels carry oxygen-rich
blood to heart muscles) to regenerate blood flow (Interventional Cardiology). The products
have been imported from Germany where the factory is located. VS started in Vietnam in
2002 with good growth rates year by year. Key customers of this business are interventional
cardiologists and chief nurses of the Interventional Cardiology Departments.
In 2007, the development began to slow down. Finding the suitable solutions to
recover its turnover is the purpose of the study. |
