AbstractNowadays, innovation for development and increasing competitiveness was very concerned by many countries, organizations and companies in the world. At the recently concluded 5th International Conference on Public Organization (ICONPO), Undersecretary Janet Lopoz, executive director of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) said there is strong correlation between the growth and level of economic maturity of economies in ASEAN and their investments in research and development and innovation. Based on studies conducted by the Asian Development Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, research and development play major roles in the creation of development plans that will drive the growth among ASEAN economies. (Source: http://www.gov.ph) The CCPC is a subsidiary of Vinacomin is a conglomerate corporation in Vietnam. Vinacomin was activities in fields like industrial coal, electricity, mechanical, industrial explosives, construction, construction material and commercial services in which the coal industry accounted for 64,8%, other sectors account for 35,2%. Facing with challenges and difficulties of the present and future, Vinacomin and CCPC have to change to achieve the goal of SD in their development process. This study based on the rationale and lessons learnt from the study of development and increasing competitiveness of companies in the world. By using SWOT analysis to analyze the problems of inside and outside environment, the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges, follow by make the good solution to solve them. The study is considered a longterm strategy to help CCPC reach a target of development strategy and increasing competitiveness in domestic economy as well as abroad.
