AbstractData dissemination for wireless sensor nodes, is currently a vastly researched topic. There are many proposed dissemination protocols which has different functionalities. And they have been tested in different types of sensor nodes. Bulk data dissemination is needed wireless sensor nodes in-order to update its firmware and to fix bugs in the nodes. Considering that the structured dissemination is more efficient than the structure-less dissemination, the correlated core based dissemination protocol (COCO) is currently the most efficient data dissemination protocol as to the presently available research. This research report mostly focuses on improving the correlated core based dissemination protocol (COCO) by minimizing the number of data broadcasting core nodes. The proposed new protocol is given the name improved correlated core based dissemination protocol (ICOCO). The improved correlated core based dissemination protocol was tested by simulating it in the Contiki software and analytically tested by network graphs.
