AbstractHaving issues with inventory is a common problem to most organizations in any sector of the economy. There are several types of inventory. For manufactories, inventory means the inventory of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products. Material management is to know and to control the inventory such that materials for productions are maintained without shortages and excesses in inventory This research is the case study of Clariant Vietnam Ltd, who just had a factory in Vietnam market several years ago with small operation beginning with 4 persons. Now, it has been expanded to 20 people with US$ 400,000 of capital investment. When the company grows bigger, more problems occur. Inventory of Clariant Vietnam is less and less controlled; inventory in month’s index cannot be reached. This study is to collect information and provides an analysis that helps to understand the company’s current inventory situation. After that, the root causes are defined through research methodology. Finally, recommendations are given to areas that need improvements in order to increase the company’s performance and to satisfy customer demands
