AbstractThis research project is on Organizational Climate (OC) and Workplace Familism using a case study of a Filipino handicraft enterprise. Organizational Climate survey was based on Patterson, West, Shackleton, Dawson, Lawthom, Lawthom, Maitlis, Robinson, and Wallace (2005), Organizational Climate Measure using Quinn and Rohrbaugh’s Competing Values Framework. This study also investigates if there will be no significant differences between men and women in their perception of Organizational Climate. The data collected is from a host company which is a Filipino handicraft enterprise. The host company is part of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector. Respondents from the company is composed of 72 employees or a 91% participation from the total population of employees. Findings of this study revealed that dominant perceived Organizational Climate in the host company is “Open System Model” and findings indicate differences in the perception of Organizational Climate between male and female employees. In addition, findings revealed that the perception on Workplace Familism is perceived higher when compared with other quadrants in Rohrbaugh’s Competing Values Framework. The study is first of its kind in terms of combining Organizational Climate and Workplace Familism, in Philippine context.
