AbstractThe modern supply management theories are stated in three levels: strategic, tactical and operational. At the strategic level, company management makes high level strategic supply chain decisions that are relevant to the whole organization. The decisions that are made with regard to the supply chain should reflect the overall corporate strategy that the organization is following. The strategic supply chain processes that management has to decide upon will cover the breadth of the supply chain. These include sourcing, inventory, procurement and logistics. The purpose of this research is to apply key concepts of strategic supply chain management and their role in one company’s supply chain cycle. Then, the research will examine the case of a real strategic supply chain in MODEC Vietnam in order to determine key important factors that influence on successful application of strategic supply chain management in companies, which are operating in the same area. Through the survey with a sample of MODEC Vietnam’s employees, I have collected the primary data for the research which is the important source for validating the results of examination of real strategic supply chain in the company.
