Abstract | Tourism service in Vietnam nowadays has become a key economic sector contributes to the growth of the country. A reported by Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, tourism industry has averagely contributed 5.8% GDP and created more than half of million jobs, occupies about 2.4% of the workforce of the communities. With aim of attracting more and more tourists to country, the government has established “The Vietnam tourism strategy up to 2020 and vision up to 2030” in which the key element would promote the strategy effectively is to enhance the competition capabilities of Vietnam tourism industry by relentless pursuit of continuous improvement of tourism services quality. According to the strategy, up to 2030 Viet Nam will need about one million four hundred direct workers to work in the tourism industry. Meanwhile these workforces are mainly trained and supplied from 15 tourism schools over the country. Honorably, VTVC is one of these 15 key schools to supply these workforces for Vietnam tourism industry and be a part of the government strategy. But in recent years, VTVC has been facing with student dropout problem. The rate of student dropout has tendency to increase is generating significant adverse impact to the learning spirit of student, threatening the reputation and vitalization of the school. This paper summary the study of VTVC case and relevant fields in Vietnam, check out internal and external factors which are most potential causes of problems to determine detail origin of the issues. Then, look for lesson learnt from other resources in country and over the world to come up with detail recommendations & solutions to improve the situation. |
