Abstract | In the circumstance of oil price of Vietnam and the world fell sharply in recent times, this have made all the oil and gas Clients that are operating in Vietnam to reduce the production output as well as cut off maximum the management and production costs. Because of the above reasons that led to the Clients requires Company to reduce the services price provided up to 20%. Besides of that, the Company also faces a lot of competitors with the same type of services. In order to increase the competition in the provision of vessels, PTSC Marine – The branch of Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) has planed to find out the solutions as well as build strategy to lower the cost price of services in order to keep the market share in the provision of vessels for all Clients in Vietnam and in the region. There are so many solutions have been proposed to reduce operation cost of PTSC Marine fleet and one of the these solution is to develop strategies to promote Vietnamese crews to be captains to replace foreign captains in order to save operation cost of PTSC Marine fleet. The purpose of this research is to identify the impacts of hiring foreign captains to the business of PTSC Marine so far, as well as conduct the survey to find out the weaknesses of existing PTSC Marine crews and then propose solutions to improve this problem in the future. To conduct the research, I have applied the following methods to analyze such as: survey questionnaire, SWOT methodology, 7S McKinsey model, OCAI. The result of this research will be proposed to board of Directors for review and build the strategies to improve in order to help company to save operation cost of PTSC Marine fleet as much as possible. |
