AbstractThe thesis presents a technique to develop spiral measurement at Seeder which is a spiral writer machine in one of the process in self-servo writing method. The spiral measurement at Seeder is accomplish by utilization of a standard hard disk drive’s print circuit board and spiral demodulation technique being used in Filler which is a servo writer test process at back-end. Utilizing the demodulation technique used in Filler enables Seeder to measure and analyze spiral signal the same way it’s bring used as Filler therefore providing capability to analyze drives before being processed at Filler. The measurement at Seeder can detect a low-frequency repeatable run-out which cannot be measured at Filler due to its high-amplitude. The study provides the test platform at Seeder and spiral measurement comparison between at Seeder and at Filler.
