Abstract | This research has analyzed an international, Asia-leading Personal Care company’s labor turnover situation in Vietnam. The company here is called: ZANU Vietnam Ltd.. The research described ZANU Vietnam Ltd.’s development since its start in Vietnam, in 1999. Today, ZANU Vietnam Ltd. holds a significant share in Vietnam’s Personal Care industry. Unfortunately, the company has in recent years experienced an increasingly high level of labor turnover, especially among its workers. This situation and development could stall or hinder further growth in the future. This research therefore addresses the company’s labor turnover problem. This research examines first the company’s strategic and functional posture, its current labor turnover situation, including reasons for leaving and how the company can possibly motivate its employees, and through that stimulate more labor retention and loyalty towards the company. The research uses a series of known business theories and both known and own business models supporting the research. Based on the research’s initial findings, root courses of the labor turnover are identified and suggestions are made by which the company can motivate its employees and thus retain more employees. In conclusion, it appears that by an improvement in the company’s Communication pattern and an adaptation of (more) modern Human Resource Management, ZANU Vietnam Ltd. can improve its current labor turnover situation. The current Communication pattern and the current, mostly administrative Personnel department, represent the obvious foundation for such improvement. By creating an internal working environment that makes employees feel better, more informed and thus more motivated, employees are bound to be more loyal to the company. |
