AbstractLa Vie Company is a joint venture with two partners: Nestlé group (Nestle Waters) and the People’s Committee of Long An province. It produces and distributes bottled mineral water for the Vietnamese market. The company is typical of joint-venture companies in Vietnam with good cooperation of partners, high growth rates and good results from the beginning year of 1992. However, from 2005, company development has showed signs of a slowdown. The reports of 2006 - 2007 showed that they were worse because of low profits and high staff turnover. The aim of this research study is to identify the various factors and problems responsible for the slowdown and discover the best solutions to solve them. The study has used a survey method with interviews and data collection of information to help the company find the root causes of problems. The leaders of the two partners Nestle and Long An Authority supplied ideas and feedback for the study The research study based on a problem analysis of La Vie joint-venture activities with the focus on human resource management. The solution analysis, though specific for La Vie joint venture Company can be a reference for other companies in a similar situation.
