AbstractRenewable energy plays key role in future generations in the production of electricity because the conventional sources are becoming extinct day by day so the renewable energies plays an important role in the future generations. As we all know that the renewable energies are intermittent in nature when they are connected to the grid they rise several grid issues. This study is carried in one of those grid issues, by utilizing the electrical spring new smart grid technology. Analysis of electric spring in the solar connected power networks is done using the MATLAB,in this simulation the reactive power is compensated using the electric spring and acts like the reactive power compensator. The single phase equivalent model is used for the distribution system and electric spring is optimally placed in the distribution system in this study. The voltage profiles across each node and the overall losses i.e., active and reactive power losses and the generation cost of the reactive power compared with base case without electric spring
