Abstract | This thesis is written in respect of the role of credit financing in Vietnamese local commercial banks to develop the economy. For many years, Vietnamese Government, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) have cooperated and put many efforts to develop the environment and legal framework for the development of credit activities as well as credit financing in import and export activities. In this situation, the role of local commercial bank to the wide spread development of credit financing is attained to the higher level. However, due to the financial crisis since 2008, the credit financing activities in many local commercial banks have been put under high risk category and they need to be revised and amended to meet the change in the financial market. In this thesis, the author try to apply some theoretical framework of business strategies (including toolboxes such as SWOT, PEST and Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model) to analyze the current situation of application of credit financing in the banking market. Through the case study of Eximbank Vietnam, the author will apply these theories to analyze the key factors contributed to the success in credit financing in import and export in local commercial banks. Then, the final conclusion and recommendations are provided in respect of key findings generated from face-to-face interviews with managers in Eximbank. |
