Abstract | Vietnam is more and more involved in the global economic integration. The participation of Vietnam in the WTO brings opportunities for SMEs to expand business activities at the same time challenges them with fierce competition from foreign and domestic company on the home ground. Quang Ninh Investment and Import- Export Joint Stock Company (Qunimex) is a clear example. For continuous development and establishment of a firm foothold in the market, Qunimex has built the company’s strategies to adapt to the new context of economic situation in which Human Resource is considered as one of the important resources for achieving its objectives. The research analyzes the weakness of performance of employees in Qunimex. The centralization of Top Management, the employees’ low competencies, wrong placement and the lack of performance management are the main causes for the problem. The research proposes some feasible solutions to address these critical Human Resource issues to improve the performance of employees such as building a systematic performance-based appraisal system, providing a competitive Compensation & Benefit policy and incentive scheme and implementing an intensive career development program. |
