Abstract | Sansiri Public Company Limited (‘Sansiri’), a privately owned property development company, established in Thailand has shown its commitment to improving the well-being and upholding the rights of children through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, “Social Change”. The company has formally collaborated with the United Nations Children’s Fund (‘UNICEF’) in Thailand and is committed to adoption of child friendly business policies and practices throughout its business in accordance with the “Children’s Rights and Business Principles”. The objective of this project is to pilot the UNICEF “Children’s Rights in Impact Assessments” tool which is designed for companies to assess the company’s policies and processes as they relate to the company’s responsibility to respect and commitment to support children’s rights. The company policies and processes are reviewed against the assessment criteria in the tool to assess their potential and actual impacts on children, based on the “Children’s Rights and Business Principles". Through the tool pilot, a methodology for applying the tool is developed and recommendations are made to both Sansiri and UNICEF. |
